This track, single disc collection excels due to its honesty and Anderson's refusal to become a hypocrite; as he explains in his humorous liner notes, he stopped bashing compilations because he realized that half of his own CD collection consists of best-of and/or hits packages. "The Very Best of Jethro Tull" does its best to describe various points in the band's lexicon to the lucky new /5().

2. A very reasonably priced CD & DVD, with a range of music that covers more than 30 years of Jethro Tull music. The band's performance is magnificent ranging from acoustic songs to out and out rockers and a few instrumental pieces. The recording is as good as any live set I've seen or /5(70).

The ironic thing is, this Tull collection is no different than those that preceded it, except that perhaps maximum disc space was utilized here, as it's comprised of 20 tracks and 78 minutes of music. There's nothing new here for avid Jethro Tull fans, and curious potential fans have at least a dozen other retrospectives to choose from.6/
